“We were the only non-Spanish people eating here, must be authentic!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

The food we had was amazing, and it was nothing like the normal "tapas" from generic places like La Tasca. No patatas bravas or spanish tortilla or anything like that. I'm guessing that it is because they only serve really authentic Spanish cuisine here and also the customers were mostly Spanish! The staff were really helpful with the menu and the atmosphere was extremely chilled out! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

“Unpretentious excellence”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

The food seems to all be freshly prepared and is excellent. The ambience and staff are Spanish. What more could you want?
Es una sorpresa muy agradable encontrar un sitio tan autentico fuera de Espana. Lo recomendaria sin nunguna duda.

“A little piece of Spain in Edinburgh”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

Visiting this restaurant on a Wednesday evening, I was pleasantly surprised to find it fully occupied. The great majority of the diners seemed to be Spanish, so it really was like eating in a restaurant in Spain.

The food is very, very tasty, and the service is friendly and efficient. We started with the "Tabla Quijote", which is a combination plate of cured meats and another of cheese. When eaten with the basket of bread which is supplied, this is probably big enough to be a meal for two in itself - however, we had ordered the El Quijote signature dish as our main, so we had a go at it. This was a delicious mixture of peppers, onions, eggs, serrano ham and chorizo, and proved too much for us, but the waitress was happy to package up what was left for us to take away.

The restaurant has Cruzcampo beer on draught, and a good wine list.

Highly recommended, but make a reservation in advance, and don't be afraid to ask for a doggy bag if you can't finish your meal!

“One of the best meals of my life!”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

Amazing tasty food served at this gorgeous little place, we'd go eat here every week if we lived in Edinburgh, because food this good and, I should add, at a very resonable price is had to come by! We had chicken skewers, prawns wrapped in aubergine, pork cheeks and a mature manchego sliced cheese dish. They were all great, but our favourite were the pork cheeks.. The waitresses were all Spanish, very attentive, helpful and just lovely..
Lots of Spanish customers, which is always a good sign!
enjoy..
