stayed here 5 nights in feb-2013. The property is a quick cab ride away from the airport. and right next to a huge shopping complex with a fair few restaurants. The hotels own restaurant is itself quite good. Ate in a couple of nights and the meal was brilliant on both occasions. The breakfast was quite good as well serving haggis, black pudding and also with an omelette bar.

Visited this property over two years ago..and yes we loved it. The hotel is a little bit older and could have a little renovation but the staff is impeccable. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a suite, had dinner for free while they couldnt provide us the room we asked for. Not necessary but a very nice gesture. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Pool beautiful and fitness area looked very professional. Location is great while the bus stop is just a minute walk..
Even when you are physically challenged its such a great city while you are able to use all the public transportation. People of Edinburgh are so friendly. Liked every minute in this city despite of all the rain...

Overnight-ed in the Marriott for its proximity to the airport and free parking.

We were pleasantly surprised that this Marriott was modern and well appointed. The staff were all great, but particularly so in the bar area (where there was free Wi-Fi). The food was very good and well priced.

The room was fine and quiet, allowing a very good nights rest.

The proximity of the Airport Shuttle bus is another big plus for this hotel. Within 15 minutes you are in the centre, without any hassle.

Didn't have time to use any of the facilities. Maybe next time.

My daughter has just had her wedding in the hotel on13 4 13. She picked the Marriott because of the impression that Karen the hotel wedding planner made on her at the initial visit. I have to a say a very big thank you to Karen, Tom (MC) and all of the staff from receptionists through to staff preparing bedrooms. All very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Food was excellent and drinks prices were not wallet breakers. Somehow they even managed to get the groom to turn up and for the sun to come out for the photographs. My daughter's wedding was a wonderful occassion thank you again Marriott. Brian Hill

We visit the Marriott group often but this was our first visit to their Edinburgh hotel.

First impressions.........? It didn't look like a Marriott from the outside and I began to wonder if this was not going to be up to the standard we usually experience.

However, I was wrong. The interior was a pleasant surprise and the staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel was clearly busy as the guests were beginning to arrive in preparation for the Easter long weekend.

The staff were well prepared for this and had done their utmost to provide fun things to occupy their youngest guests. They had organised a 'treasure hunt' around the hotel for the wee ones, an egg decorating competition and had laid on back-to-back DVDs for children in one of the meeting rooms. There were 'chicken shed' loads of mini Easter eggs and packets of sweets and lollipops being handed out by the staff to smiling wee faces, and grateful looking parents relaxing with the relief of their child's enjoyment.

The rooms, I must say, were NOT up to the usual Marriott standard. They were incredibly narrow and had the tiniest bathroom imaginable. The chiller did not 'chill' and there was a desperate lack of drawer space - however, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The pool and spa were disappointing....and mobbed. People were being allowed to throw balls to one another right in the path of other users. The Leisure staff should have put a stop to this - although guests common sense should have kicked in too. The Sauna was a little distance away from the pool and incredibly dark, to the point of feeling a little uncomfortable in my opinion. It wasn't very hot either and pouring water through the tube seemed to have no effect at all.

Breakfast was lovely, although the dining room was very busy between 9-10am which is understandable as it was Easter weekend. There was a further opportunity for the children to win an Easter Bunny by guessing its name. we hung around for the naming of the bunny to see if our child had won......but REALLY wish we hadn't, as the result was clearly fixed. Of the 2 eager children waiting to find if they'd won, the youngest of the pair (NOT our child) was asked what name he had chosen for the Bunny. Then, lo and behold, on opening the envelope it (supposedly) revealed the very same name that the boy had just given! Aye right...... I felt gutted for my child....(who is clever enough to realise that it was a fix too).....that is not the way to handle it Marriott when only 2 children bother to stay for the 'naming'.

The hotel was situated on a good bus route allowing easy access to all districts. Assistance from the front desk would help you to navigate your way through Edinburgh's narrow, busy and poorly surfaced roads if you really MUST drive.....take my advice though and take the bus.

Have a nice stay!

Room Tip: For a quieter room ask for one on a higher floor, away from the lift and the ice machine.

Booked this as a last minute overnight stay for myself and my daughter to relax. The spa and gym facilities were great. The decor and cleanliness of the hotel were excellent. The room was also one of the nicest I have stayed in and was excellent value for money. Breakfast was of superb quality and the service was great. Over all could not fault this hotel.Oh... one thing if you do not want to be wakened at 8.30 am by housekeeping please remember to hand the do not disturb sign outside your room door! -our fault,

We booked this hotel near the airport because we had an early morning flight. Our plans changed and we ended up staying two nights. It is a typical Marriott with over priced food and an outrageous fees for using the internet. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. There is a bus for only 1.50 pounds that runs in front of the hotel into the center of town. The bed was very comfortable but the rooms are small with a tiny window. The airport is only a couple of miles down the road and is easy to find. Overall, stay here for one night, but stay somewhere else if you are visiting Edinburgh.
