Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

Amazing view of Edinburgh. Takes over 30 mins to walk up. Not for the those in poor shape. Choose to go up during decent weather, as it was foggy when I went up.

Didn't make it all the way due to a recent ankle surgery, but it was beautiful the parts I did see. We also lucked out on a sunny morning!

We veered over to the chapel ruins which was a great photo of the city as well.

Great walking paths to the top of the hill.
We walked from our hotel to the foot of the hill and from the foot of the hill it took about 45 minutes to get to the top.
Stunning views of all of Edinburgh from the top.
Beautiful natural site in the middle of the city.
We noticed on our way down that there is a single track road which one can drive along to go to the top. There is parking along the way and from car park is a much shorter distance to the top!

The Arthur's Seat is easily accessible just behind the Holyrood Place and the Scottish Parliament on the East side of Princes Street. Due to my tight schedule, I just managed to walk uphill and didn't have time to go around or visit the small Loch. Walking uphill would probably take you 45 minutes. The reward would be a nice view of the city herself. Remember to wear sports / hiking shoes to go up the hill!
