Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

Beautiful views views over Edinburgh and generally a nice walk and something a little different from the other touristy things - with the added bonus of being free! We went on a blustery day a week ago with rather inappropriate footwear - managed fine and still really enjoyed it but would definitely recommend sensible walking shoes, especially if it's wet and slippy. We started out from the bottom of the royal mile/holyrood palace/parliament building and it took us about 20-30 minutes to the top. Remember a waterproof.. : )

Pack your water and watch out for the high winds on top!
Spectacular way to view Edinburgh.
Grab a cone at the end from the vendor...yum.

Great excercise getting up there in the first place and amazing view from the top!!
Did this as part of our mini-moon and will be doing it again no doubt at some point in the future!

Full of facts and interesting things to look at if you have children with you. Abit of a hike to get to if you are unsteady on your legs or disabled but the roads are good and taxi's can access the area easily

Scotland has a lot better hills than this one that do not get a review on tripadvisor.
I found this to be average, a lovely duck and swan pond at the bottom where the do not feed the birds sign clearly has to be bigger or written in more languages.
