Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

We arrived in Edinburgh a day before a scheduled tour & we had some time to kill. We found Arthur's Seat by accident & didn't even realize it was "an attraction" until we got back to town. It is GORGEOUS! We made it only half way to the top, mainly because we hadn't prepared for it. There are 2 ways to the top -- you can kind of wind around to the back on an easy incline or take the "Radical Road" which is approx. a 45 degree angle! Even from the half way point, the view is stunning. Definitely try it!

Hi everyone ! Me and my friends went at 2 pm for picnic, and we had a great time (be prepared for a BLIZZARD if u want to do a picnic at the top). The climbing is easy and super short, nothing like it looks like from the bottom so dont worry !! The view is AMAZING! Although if you want to experience at 100 % you can climb Arthur's seat around 4 ish and when you are going down at 6 ish go to salisbury crags (the rocks in front of Arthur's Seat) and from there you can see a beautiful sunset and a beautiful view of not only the city but Arthur's seat going dark with the amazing sky on the background. (i returned the next day to climb salisbury crags which can be done in 20 min and im not extremely fitted, so do it if u have the time !! No need to returned like i did).

I didn't have time to go to the top but worth it for the view even just to go up to the cliffs lower down. it's not as high as it looks!

Not as gruelling a walk up as you might think and well worth it! Can see all of Edinburgh from the top and across the Firth.
