Owner description: Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

Really really enjoyed this little trek up! The only thing that made it significantly more challenging was the insane wind - everyone else looked pretty fine with the weather but for our group, the wind and the cold made us suffer a bit. Thank God the sun did choose to come out once in a while though! The sky was blue and only slightly overcast. The view at the top was just amazing.. nothing else needs to be said. A climb that definitely needs to be done if you visit Edinburgh! Make sure to dress warmly, at least have a good windbreaker, gloves and a scarf and you should be fine. Make sure you have a camera to capture the awesome view as well!!

With snow about just wonderful view with Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament near by. Drove around the lower part. There is a road to the top but it was closed due to snow.

Worth the climb for the stunning views but boy was the wind biting up there. Of course we chose the coldest day of the year to visit and the wind chill factor was biting, but it had to be done.

We climbed this on a cloudy overcast day which took us about 30 minutes. The views were amazing till we got to the top and could see nothing but clouds! Wear proper foot wear as you will break an ankle in heels!!

This was something of a more strenuous hike than was expected what with ground made muddy/slick with melting snow. However, it gave a great view and was a lot of fun. Give it a try!
