Hello all, I would first like to thank laterooms.com for the offering of such a fantastic hotel. The airport at Edinburgh first of all is very impressive, the best I have been at, (and I have seen a fair few). The speed of the bag collection is fairly quick, the organisation is simple and staff are extremely helpful. You can then get a taxi which costs around £12 but if you find a blue bus called 'Airlink' a single ticket for adults is £3.50 with return at £6, children were around £2 single and around £4 return. These buses go to the town centre but if the Best Western is where you are heading to, then you can get off at a bus stop just passed McDonald's then catch a number 26 which stop right outside the hotel. Tickets cost £1.40 single for anywhere as no destination is told to the driver. All day tickets are £3.50 per adult and £2 for children, but as what we did, you can get a number 1 or 26 into town, then have a walk down to the Princes Street mall and turn right towards a shop called 'Lothian Buses'. This is where you can get an extremely beneficial bus pass for the week for just £17 per person which, if you are to use the bus frequently, is vital.
Moving onto the hotel, when you walk into the hotel the look is very welcoming. The reception staff give you an entrance with a warming smile on a cold October evening. They quickly check you in and offer to answer any question you may have such as buses to get, restaurants etc. When we got our room, number 47, we opened the door and immediately thought that it was well worth the payment. The beds were made immaculately, bathrooms spotless and with a plasma television on the wall with satellite, perfect for those pouring rain days which, for us, didn't occur. The other facilities such as the gym and swimming pool were top notch. Very clean, heated and well looked after. The gym was air conditioned and fairly equippd with running machines, weights and cycling machines.
The breakfast was superb with an unlimited fry-up available everyday with cereals also. The views outside the windows while eating your scrumptious food and/or drinking your coffee/juice as you can see the airport with the planes taking off and landing.
Well that is my review done, thanks for reading and enjoy your stay.
