Fantastic location - right in the centre of Princes Street.Odd numbered rooms overlook the Princes Street Gardens.Very helpful Reception staff , indeed all staff helpful. Bathrooms need some updating - 1970s taps! Breakfast fine - had to ask for more milk both mornings though.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor & odd numbered room

I recently spent 2 nights here with 2 friends, check in was quick & easy and all staff on reception were lovely. The location is amazing with a view of Princes street and the castle.
The room was fine. It was clean and had the things needed.
i would absolutely stay again and would recommend to friends.

Good Location.

Reception on 1st floor, nobody to assist with luggage,

Upgraded room, paid extra , room 770., Room had recently been painted ,&when we put the heater on, the fumes were terrible. Called Manager, give us another room on same floor as all booked out.Manger not helpful at all., with no compensation to us.

We took our laundry to reception, & was told we needed to put in laundry bag, the room didn't have one, asked housekeeping to supply one, there were none left, back to reception were they found a laundry bag.

Locks on balcony doors, unable to lock.( bad security)

If you pay for breakfast at reception is 10 pounds, if you pay in the morning it's 13.95 pounds

Over all a very sub standard badly run Mecure.

Stayed here for 2 nights, lovely place w/ gorgeous view, great price! Only 1 problem, no microwave not even for executive room. Asked how to heat up special meal - was told head to kitchen which I did. There I was told it was busy to come back in 30 minutes which I did. Then was told after 15 minutes, sorry can't do it with no explanation. Not pleased but made do. Fridge was available behind reception which was ok but not my first choice.

Nothing fancy, excellent location for shops, castle. The Royal Mile etc. We only stayed a couple of nights so was ok for that, but it desperately needs a make over. Bedding very flimsy and drab looking, no fridge in family room which you would expect if you have kids although we didn't have any with us. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on the food, as too many lovely places to eat in Edinburgh way waste it by eating in the Hotel.
