We enjoyed three nights here while in town for the Tatoo and liked the room and bedding and breakfast very much. Our hosts were very accomodating and helpful. The parking area was also quite roomy, and the bus to town is right across the road.

We loved Acer Lodge!!! It was a grand place to stay in Edinburgh! We were right on the bus line into the city and our host and hostess were very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were visiting very close family friends and was about a mile away, so we could walk to their house.

Terry and Gill, our host and hostess, furnished warm, inviting accommodating a great breakfast to start us off every day along with their own brand of hospitality.

We will go back again!

Really good B&B, well presented and everything works.

We had a first floor front room, traffic noise not really a problem.

Good power shower.Fully fitted room, breakfast excellent.

Off Road Parking, visited City centre by bus.

Visited RY Britannia - excellent, Castle - good, long queue to buy tickets, you can pre buy online.

We ate at 'The Brig' about 1.5 miles (northbound) away from Acer Lodge, refurbished, meal good.

Best to turn left from B&B entrance and find somewhere to turn round (if you want) as traffic flows (4 lanes) can be tricky.

Enjoyed our stay, thanks.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper avoid front room.

Neat, tidy warm and cozy room with almost everything you need(free Wi-Fi,hairdryer,refrigerator,clothes hanger, alarm clock, towels, tissue, kettle, soap, bath gel and shampoo, sewing package, etc)!! Just be sure to bring your toothbrush, comb and lotion. I have been here for a month due to a short-term study in Edinburgh. Every morning you will receive warm greetings from Terry and abundant and delicious breakfast from Gill!!They are really hospitable and will give you clear and useful guidance about traveling in Edinburgh. They also have a lot of booklets for information of buses and spots which you can get easily. Nearest village(Davidson's main) just two bus stops from Acer Lodge Guset house or you can walk just about 10-15min. You can find TESCO,post office and restaurants there. If you want to go to the city centre, bus 41 just near ACER LODGE which takes you 20-40min to George St(New town),Waverly Bridge, National Library of Scotland(Royal mile-old town) and National museum of Scotland(old town). If you need to go to Western General Hospital, bust 21 around the corner takes you just 15mins to go there. You may think this wonderful place must be expensive. In fact, it is cheap (It is the cheapest one after I search all the B&B near WGH) and really worthy!! What are you waiting for? Come to visit this lovely city and stay in this comfortable B&B. I bet I will definitely miss here and the elegant but friendly city!! George St(New town),Waverly Bridge, National Library of Scotland(Royal mile-old town) and National museum of Scotland(old town).

Excellent. Comfortable: top-notch breakfast; friendly and helpful owners; excellent value especially for an expensive city like Edinburgh.. Some comments have mentioned its site on a main road as a problem, but (admittedly sleeping at the back!) we found it 100% quiet and restful. It is around 20 mins out of the City Centre by bus, but if you a rrive at Waverley by train it's a door to door job on the 41 bus (and buses in Edinburgh are cheap, claen and frequent).

I stayed at the Acer Lodge for two nights and it was great .
The room was very confortable and clean, the breakfast was good ( and huge !) and the owners very friendly and helpfull.
There is a bus top just crossing the street so it was really very easy to get to the city centre , which took us about 10 minutes.
If I go to Edinburgh again I´d stay there.

I recently visited the city and stayed overnight in this guest house due to its location close to the Western General and also because of its good reviews in the Trip Advisor. The proprietors could not be more accommodating as I had gone through my operation earlier than expected and was really looking for a place to rest afterwards. There was no problem with booking in earlier and the room had everything you would expect and more from a B&B.I run a B&B myself and there was not much I could fault without being picky.I had noticed that a previous comment had mentioned road noise as it was on a main road - my room was at the very front of the house and whilst I could hear the traffic it certainly wasn't to such an extent that it spoiled my sleep.I would certainly return here again with my wife if we were visiting Edinburgh
