An overnight stay mid-week at the Parliament House Hotel was both value for money and comfortable. I had booked online a couple of months before, and check-in was swift and friendly. There was a lift to the rooms, but I chose to,walk up the broad staircase. The room was nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed desk furnishings. The included wifi was relatively quick and easy to access. The bathroom was spacious and clean, though when using the shower leaked between the shower screen and bath and pooling right in front of the basin. It was conveniently located to the centre of the old town, but very quiet in the evening guaranteeing a good night's sleep. I'd certainly stay again if in Edinburgh in the future.

Having cancelled a booking at a travelodge as reviews said it was noisy, i found this hotel at really reasonable rates. It's a little gem, at the foot of Carlton Hill (which gives amazing views of the city without having to climb Arthur's seat) , a short stroll from the station, and just yards away from a great Scottish restaurant Howie's which has brilliant locally sourced food. The staff are great and our room no.14 had views of Carlton Hill and (in the corner) the sea!The hotel has a lovely elegant vibe with wood paneling and a beautiful arts and crafts iron lift shaft, now just for decoration. Rooms were well appointed and very quiet. Amazing value for something so central and luxurious.

Room Tip: Room 14 has views of Carlton Hill but you have to take the stairs.

We were so lucky to have found this hotel. The location is excellent and the room was fantastic. I don't think you could find a hotel of this quality anywhere else in the city for the price.

Parking is available outside or on the main street free after 20.00 but metered parking is readilly available also.

Food was great too in the Bistro also located within the hotel.

This is the 4th time staying at the Parliament - which we have always enjoyed. This time the staff was particularly helpful assisting us through a difficult time. We were able to count on them, and they assisted us as we feel none other would. In addition the rooms are exceptionally clean, the menu and preparation of food is second to none both in the evening and at breakfast. The location is great also.
The tea and coffee facilities were not important. We will stay no where else in Edinburg. It is not hard to find - just a short left off the main drag.

This hotel was handy as we were visiting the Play House and arriving at the bus station just across the road. The rate was reasonable for the room as it was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Was glad to have a hotel where we could fully open the windows however our room looked straight into offices across the street was a little embarrassing when they are staring in! But no complaints can be made about the hotel itself!

Stayed here with a friend. Twin room. Quite small and very stuffy. On a positive note, could open window for fresh air. Beds comfortable, room adequate for sleeping in. Close to everything. Staff good. Brekkie great. Good value for money.

We booked this purely on reviews. Staff are knowledeable and friendly. Hotel in perfect location, close enough to city centre but off the beaten track so quiet. Our room (404) overlooked Calton Hill and we were woken on the first two nights at 2.30am by people being kicked out of the bar at the bottom of the hill. Shut the window on the third night, no problem. Not the hotels fault. Breakfast was great. Really filling, we filled up and didnt feel hungry for hours. Restaurant staff were really polite and helpful. Be prepared to level your table up though as every one we were seated at wobbled! We had it sussed and put a napkin under the offending legs, so did everyone before us it seems, as there were napkins under nearly every one!! Did create a few laughs though! On the negative side, no toilet brush in the bathroom, so dont have a really hot curry!! No secure place to leave your luggage. We arrived very early, and left really late so had to leave our luggage. We had to leave it in an open area which served as the 'bar' area. We had no problem, our luggage was just as we had left it. However, every other hotel we have stayed in have had a secure area to leave luggage in. No bar. They serve drinks in the lounge. Don't get us wrong, the lounge is lovely, but for a three star hotel we would expect a proper bar, however small. Back to location. Just a short walk to Calton Hill. Two minutes to the best location for views of the city.
Bed was massive, two singles put together so made 6' wide. Awesome!
Overall - wonderful location, friendly staff, cleanliness excellent, breakfast first class.
We will definitely be back on our next trip to Edinburgh. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay. :)
