Owner description: Hidden beneath the Royal Mile lies Edinburgh’s deepest secret: a warren of hidden ‘closes’ where real people lived, worked and died. The only tour of real Mary king's close, the tour guide was brilliant and knew what she was talking about.

Paul, the guide was superb. This is a walk beneath the streets of Edinburgh coupled with a couple of murder & ghost stories- beware the squeaky rubber rat in the plague room. Not a place for those with limited mobility

My girlfriend and I went on the tour a few weeks ago and had a blast. The tour is underground and gives a well rounded view of what living there was like. The tour guide was a sweet girl who played a historical role throughout the tour. The ending was a little cheesy: ghost story and optional picture (they offer the picture but are not pushy at all). But overall I had a great time and would revisit the attraction on future trips.

Excellent, thank you Chris T. Great insight into old Edinburgh and life in the medieval period. Interesting to see how the poorer folk would have lived and glad there was no smell for effect when "gardy loo" was explained. The display rooms were good and the guide attentive.

Chris T. gave an entertaining, funny, informative tour. We enjoyed learning about the history of Edinburgh. It was more than worth the time (1 hour) and the cost (12.95 pounds per person).
