Stayed on 15 April 2013. Paid about £25 for a window-less double room. Both it and bathroom were tiny, but were clean, well appointed and fairly close to Waverley Railway Station (15 mins on foot). With very little storage space, it would not be ideal for an extended holiday; but for the price it was a bargain and for short stays I would use the easyHotel again.

Room Tip: The hotel is very close to the excellent National Gallery of Scotland (free admission)

I booked a double room with no window...i was very dubious at first. However, got there and it had a very good power shower, clean and had a tv! as it was only a three day stay it had everything i needed a clean room with a bed and a bathroom and on one of the best main streets of Edinburgh! meant i never had to catch a bus i could walk from the train station to the hotel and around the city! VERY confeniantAlso, not having a window meat i could have anice lie in and noo traffic noise!
If you plan to sit in the hotel a lot i wouldnt recommend but if your looking for somewhere nice but cheap to rest your head and have a good wander around edinburgh this is the place!

Room Tip: My non window room had no outside city noise and had a nice lay in as no sun blinding!

It amazes me reading through the reviews of this place how misguided some people seem to be, claiming service was poor, no real toiletries included, what were they expecting! I have spent some time at this hotel over the past year and have never been disappointed. Yes the rooms are small but I personally found them rather cosy. Yes service is not 5* but neither are the prices. I booked and checked in within 2 hours of each other and paid just £26! Tell me where else you can get Princes Street accommodation at such short notice for that price! You do have to pay for the TV remote and Wi-Fi but given how much there is to do in Edinburgh this wasn't an issue because I wasn't there to watch TV.

The receptionists were very friendly and as I mentioned briefly earlier the location is fantastic! It seems to me that the negative reviews for this hotel are simply to do with expectations, the hotel is not dirty, the location is great and price in unbeatable. What let's it down is what people are expecting, simply go with an open mind and take it at face value and you won't be disappointed!

We used to travel in easyhotels so I don't judge the concept but really this hotel.
To us an easyhotel is a small room, but clean!! It is not the case in this easyhotel:
- dirty bed
- rubbish in the floor of the room
- hot water in the shower only sometimes
- fire alarm every morning between 7:30 and 9:00 am

We were 5 people and booked 3 rooms and it was the same in the 3 rooms...

The price looked good, around GBP 40 per night but for a dirty room it is too much!
For 10-15 GBP more it is possible to find something better than this hotel.

I used to recommand easyhotel for travelling across Europe with a low budget, but this one is clearly a bad choice.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking your time and leaving feedback regarding your stay with us at EasyHotel Edinburgh.

I am sincerely sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
As a result of your feedback regarding the shower temperature I will certainly initiate an investigation into water pressure for the showers in order to identify if there is a specific problem.
We work very hard at our hotel to achieve the highest of standard of housekeeping and if you found the rooms to be dirty then there was a failing on this occasion and I have already raised the case with our housekeeping departments so that the issues does not occur again.

Once again please accept our apologies for the inconveniences caused.

OK so we knew that as it was branded easy it wouldn't be the Ritz but come on is this legal to be able to stay in such a small confined space?

Pay extra for a window pay extra for a tv pay extra for a large room 2sqm larger than small.

Not the best, and if your doing a poo your feet need to go into the shower base think easyjet toilet and then minus some extra space!!.

It actually worked out dearer than a travel lodge or premier inn.

But well worth the try and experience you have to book just to say you did it!!!

Room Tip: Dont book but if you do take that all important tin opener :-)

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I appreciate your comments, and would like to take this opportunity to apologise if your stay was not as comfortable as you had hoped on this occasion.
We are a budget hotel and we do our best to provide the lowest prices for our guests that other places in city centre are unable to offer that is why we have to charge extra for the extra facilities which is clearly stated on our website as well with the dimensions of our rooms to ensure guests are fully informed when making a booking.

With many thanks once more for your time and feedback.

We recently stayed here for a six nations weekend and it cost just £48 for 3 nights. For that money you could not fault the place. Yes the room was small but that was made clear at time of booking and the room was clean and well heated. The location is great smack in the middle of princes street with easy access to rose street and George street. Would definitely visit again if on a boys trip but may use a different hotel if going with my partner. Great value for money.

Stayed for 2 nights with a friend at easyHotel Edinburgh and while we had some difficulty managing the little amount of space, it was value for money at the price we paid. We got a room with a window which allowed us to look out on the street, the park across the street, and the war museum on the hill. Lovely view!

It can get a little loud with passing traffic, but no issue for us. Good thing is that the bus from the airport stops two mins down the street, bad is that the bus to get back to the airport is a little further away. Still, the streets are not difficult to navigate so no issue again.

The bathroom was tiny but clean.

Overall, was happy with our stay because of the location, and price.
