The walk is steep but not long. The views are nice but not great. I chose to do this instead of Arthur's Seat, but now I wish I had chosen Arthur's Seat instead. I think the views are even better from there.

Pretty easy walk up this hill, there is lots to take pictures of when up there, different monuments and buildings.

The view is also nice is you want to watch the sun set. It’s completely safe id say because there was numerous tour guide groups around this was at around 8 o’clock pm.

Lots of people around so sometimes hard to get a decent picture.

We decided to visit as we had seen a number of news reports from the hill. We
were not disappointed. What a view all around Edinburgh. The visitor information boards make interesting reading telling of the people and history of the City.
Top tips
A short walk up the hill gives you stunning views with a 360 degree vista.
There is a cafe and toilets if required.
The reataurant at the tp has views to die for but you had better have a full wallet as the menu is very expensive.

We visited the hill on our first evening in Edinburgh. It was (relatively) warm with a clear sky. The view is excellent and watching the sun go down over the country gave it a special touch..
