The grounds are just gorgeous. My whole family had an awesome time walking around and seeing the flowers, trees, hedges, gardens, hot houses, etc. It's a very easy walk around the property and one can easily spend hours here without even trying.

A perfect way to spend a leisurely day after you have done all the "must see" attractions in Edinburgh.

Easy to travel to by bus from the city centre, bus stops just by the gate. Gardens are free to enter, with a charge for the glasshouses. There is a small cafe and a larger restaurant, good clean facilities. Interesting, peaceful and very lovely. Recommended.

Well laid out and the Queen Mother garden was an added bonus, such a calm and relaxing area. When we visited there was a free 'try some potting' experience. Knowledgable and friendly gardeners on hand to show and discuss all things gardening.

There are so many place to picture in the garden. It was very nice to enjoy a cup of coffee with the beautiful surroundings.
