The garden is like a huge oasis in the city. There are different areas of the gardens for different regions (Chinese garden, native woodlands, etc), and if you have a nice sunny day, you really could spend half the day here. It's a peaceful surprise that you wouldn't necessarily expect to find in Edinburgh. There are little eateries and coffee shops on site as well.

We had a nice stroll through these lovely shady gardens. Lots of big trees. Once of us found a tick afterwards, though. Never expected that in Scotland!

Sea of calm and tranquility; plenty to see and not too many visitors made it a lovely place to relax, squirrels tend to be very friendly!

Nice place to walk and find a little peace. Only downside was the rainy wheather. I couldn't visit the glasshouse but I do that next time.
