The Hotel is clean and of a high standard, everything you need in the room even an iron and ironing board, location great as buses are so frequent which take you straight into the new or old town and the cost for travel is capped at £4.00 a day using contactless card, on you door step is shopping centre, cinema all in all a great place to stay.

Room tip: Ask the hotel direct and they will always try to help.

We were celebrating my Mums 60th and family stayed here for the night. Although Edy and I didn't stay the staff were kind enough to let us access the room ahead of their check in to leave presents and balloons which was great. We met in the bar before heading out for dinner and were served by Jamie who was great. Also ths hotel is dog friendly which I think is brilliant.

We arrived at the hotel and due to building work had to park at a nearby multi storey car park(which there was no charge for). As a IHG member, there was no welcome as such. The hotel had a very strange smell, which was not very pleasant. It smelled like stale sausages and bacon. When I walked around to the closed breakfast area, that was where the smell was most strong. The same smell had made its way all the way up to our room and corridor. The lift from reception was extremely slow and in the end we used the stairs. As we were visiting Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo, the price of the hotel was extortionate compared to others we have stayed in, in the past. The bedroom was very small as well. The hotel was convenient for our stay and that was about it

Dear ScotlandAgg,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us.

Your feedback is much appreciated to identify areas for improvement and for coaching our team. I am sorry that you found the cooking smells from the breakfast items remained after the close of breakfast and up towards where you room was. We will run the extraction unit a bit longer after the breakfast service to see if this makes a difference. We have a second lift in the hotel and I am sorry that you weren't made aware of this during your stay. Accommodation in Edinburgh can be expensive over the festival period as the demand for hotel rooms drives up prices. We always ensure that we offer competitive prices compared with other hotels in the city.

The building work on our extension is due for completion at the end of the year and our car park should return to normal. In the meantime we have free overflow parking arranged with the shopping centre which is just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back on another occasion.

Best Regards,

Fiona S.

Clean and had all we needed. Staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Great location for visiting Edinburgh as bus stops are all within 100m and Ocean Terminal with food and shopping is just over the road. The room was clean and big enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Scotland for a family wedding. The room was fairly compact but perfectly adequate and the bed was comfortable. Breakfasts were in a self service, cafeteria style facility but again were perfectly adequate. The only factor that prevents me from rating it more highly was the parking arrangements. There is a reasonable amount of parking but you have to register your car at reception - which we did with the aid of a trainee receptionist. However 2 months later we received a parking fine notice via our car hire company. The parking managers, ParkingEye, claimed our car was not registered with the hotel. I appealed the notice using their online system and included a copy of our hotel booking but received no acknowledgement and a couple of weeks later received yet another demand for the fine. This I appealed in writing sent recorded delivery - but again no acknowledgement and again a further demand another couple of weeks later. Eventually I wrote to the hotel manager asking her to intervene and eventually the fine was cancelled. All very annoying. I do not know if ParkingEye were just trying it on on whether the registration process had failed. So if you are staying at the hotel with a car make sure you register it with reception and that they confirm that it is properly registered - and to be safe check with them daily

Dear KevinfromKent,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us.

I am pleased that you had a good stay with us but I am sorry that you experienced issues with parking charges after your stay.

As discussed I think that there was some confusion at check in and you understood that the receptionist would input your registration number on the tablets and I think he assumed the reverse. We have made it clear to all of the team that we need to make sure that the guest inputs the registration details to avoid any confusion or typing errors. I am sorry that this happened during your stay and that you experienced inconvenience after your stay.

I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back on another occasion.

Best Regards,
