“Good Budget Option in Leith”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

This hotel is everything you would expect from a budget hotel. It is cheap and cheerful with no added luxuries.
The hotel is in a great location for everything in Leith. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. No frills but by no means slumming it either. Slept well with no noise issues.
Breakfast was OK, we stuck to the continental options as the sausages looked cheap and nasty and the scrambled egg woefully overcooked. The rest of what was on offer was good though and a good variety on offer.

Stayed for one night 12TH May. Found the reception staff very helpful and polite and thought it was nice to be offered breakfast as we arrived early , The bus service into Edinburgh was good with the bus stop right outside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and the breakfast was fine .Would recommend a visit to the Royal Yatch which is just across the road. Will defintely return to this hotel.

I thought this hotel was a decent option for a couple of days in Edinburgh. The breakfast was good enough and the location, although outside the city center, was a 15 min or so bus ride and the drop off is right in front of the hotel. We took an excursion to the Highlands and the tour bus came to our hotel saving us a trip to the city center. It also has free parking if you are considering doing any excursions on your own. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with all of our questions pushing the rating from 3 to 4 stars. Considering how much cheaper it is to stay here than the city center, it is certainly worth looking at.

Great location = Great savings...Free breakfast, free parking and nearby to a mall & the bus stop; we also were able to use travelling points for further savings on our room. Great room & the bed was more comfortable than my own, we had a great sleep. They charge for internet if you want it in your room, but you can have 6 hours/day of free internet in the lobby area. Pet friendly. Nice atmosphere & friendly employees. Breakfast has a good assortment & plentiful. The only thing that I had a problem with was the extra noisy children at breakfast, but that was not the hotels fault. Great place, we would stay again!

Stayed overnight on 8th May mainly by the recommendations of others as we wished to visit the nearby Britainnia and shopping mall. The staff were very nice and helpful and the room was spotless and comfortable. We found the included breakfast very nice and well presented. The scrambled egg, sausages and beans and toast were great prior to returning home.
Would I return? Most certainly. Would I recommend? Yes.
Enough said.

We recently had a two night stay here and we found the hotel and staff to be absolutely first class. Our clean, spacious room in the quieter part of the hotel was ready for us even though we arrived early and the staff, particularly Gasia, were friendly, very pleasant and extremely helpful. Breakfast was good with a wide choice and hot drinks were available all day.
The location is great and there are some excellent bars and restaurants nearby. We will certainly stay here again when we next visit Edinburgh.

My usual choice is to stay at Premier Inns.
Decided from location this would be better - close to where I needed to go.
Room ok although windows a bit draughty.
Breakfast may have been free but bizarre hot choice - sausages , beans and scrambled eggs.
Shower tempreature was a maximum but only warm - good pressure though.
Clean modern hotel near Ocean Terminal shopping centre - wished I 'd gone here for breakfast
I'd still prefer the Premier Inns as these tend to be more comfortable and have onsite restaurant and decent breakfast for a similar price room.

No problems with staff on check in or otherwise.
