First time stay within this particular hotel even although I visit Edinburgh frequently. I have stayed 3 nights Sunday 18th June to 21st June this year. Reception staff friendly enough and I had booked a family for the 3 nights.
The room on 6th floor was on back of hotel and faced into overgrown ground and facing into back of royal mile flats. Room itself was badly needing decorating and appeared grubby. There was cob webs on ceiling and curtain rails were black and dirty and was paint marks on curtains. Bedlinen had small stains on then and bathroom had black mould down tiles and bath had rusty marks on taps. Not the standard I expect for that level of money hotel are charging. There was a lift out of order for two days and therefore only one working in whole hotel which caused delays at peak breakfast times.
On positive note was in prime location near Waverley train station and on the door step of royal mile and couple of minutes walk onto princess street. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of hotel and not what you expect for Jurys inn.

Room Tip: front of hotel best for views above 3rd floor

Overall a disappointing experience given I've stayed in several of the jurys hotels and always been impressed.
Hotel needs a general makeover or at the very least some repairs, coat of paint and a deep clean.
No air con in rooms made for uncomfortable night, they did supply a noisy 14" fan which was left on all night to help move the air.
Stayed in room 102 to be awoken by men pushing delivery trolleys around at the window at 0600hrs so don't expect a long lie.
Tiles in bathroom broken and hole in shower curtain as per pics below.
Notified staff on checkout of the issues, the lady on the desk replied "oh that's not good, thanks for your stay".

The breakfast wasn't their usual standard with many of the items tasting as if they'd sat out for some time but to end on a positive the steak was nice at dinner

Great location and friendly and professional staff make this a great stay in Edinburgh. It is close to Waverley station with a short walk up a Close to the Royal Mile. The have a very good breakfast buffet to help get the day started on the right foot. While it is a bit of a tired decor and the trains can be a distraction, our family enjoyed our stay and would go back to the Jurys Inn again.

Having stayed at other Jury's hotel in UK & Ireland, we were extremely disappointed by comparison.
The room was small with a double bed only accessible from one side as it was up against the wall.
There was no air conditioning but a fan was provided, However, this was rather a nuisance as it was noisy whilst trying to get to sleep.
The bathroom was functional but shower was either hot or cold .. No happy medium !!
Breakfast was buffet style and only hash browns were hot, leaving us rather unfulfilled.
Overall, the hotel is rather dated and (in our opinion) offered poor value for money - The only plus side was the location but there are others close by that would certainly be worth considering and likely better.

Central to what Edinburgh has to offer, walking distance to most amenities around Edinburgh. Taxi rank at Waverly station next to Jury inn is really handy. Excellent staff all round. Pleasant and professional.
