This was one of the first things we did on our visit to Scotland and we are glad we didn't miss it as it was recommended whenever we mentioned whiskey around the country. Gives an unbiased overview of the different whiskey areas in Scotland and process. It starts with a somewhat silly ride but then you get a real guide and get to visit the whiskey collection which is awesome, and you get a sample of a whiskey from whichever region you choose. We discovered my husband likes Speyside while I prefer Islay which will help with future trip planning. I don't personally prefer whiskey but still an enjoyable learning experience that we definitely suggest seeing once.

It was a great respite after being turned down at various distillery due to their age policy as we had a young child with us. We enjoyed the tour n tasting as a family Together and had a lot of fun. The take away glass at the end was the icing on the cake. Their restaurant amber looked tempting but we couldn’t give it a try. Next time! it’s right outside the castle to hard to miss.

After reading the great reviews on here we were really looking forward to our visit. It all started well with a slick welcome and ticket buying process. Unfortunately from here in it fell completely flat.

I completely understand that it’s a money making visitor attraction, but it really felt like that too. The guide was eloquent and clear but the whole thing was so heavily scripted (it felt very American!) that it lacked any warmth and charm. the info about the whisky was interesting but clearly was all about trying to make you spend money in the shop afterwards.

I felt there was more they could have done to make it more of a personal experience for the visitor rather than a very American theme park ride. Overall I just don't feel it was value for money. It did feel like a theme park ride - as soon as the experience was over we were herded to the shop for us to spend money!

A small thing, but some proof reading training is required by the marketing team as there were quite a few errors in the promotional material.

We are sorry to hear that the tour experience was not what you expected. Our guides do not work off of scripts, they are given guidelines and information, however there are no scripts and each guide puts their own spin on the tours. We try to make the experience personal to each individual visitor, however, we also have to bare in mind that over 80% of our visitors come from overseas and so we are mindful of using tone and language that is suitable for a large international audience.
We thank you very much for your feedback, if you have any other thoughts or questions please send them to marketing@scotchwhiskyexperience.co.uk - we'd be happy to receive them!

Great tour- the wait is long and tour is short but once inside you get a good education on whisky. We went in gold tour and had the extra tasting at the end. When in Scotland do as the Scots do-enjoy
