Owner description: A visit to Dynamic Earth is like nothing else on Earth. It's a chance to experience the primeval forces of nature as they shaped our planet, to journey through space and time and even go on a 4DVENTURE around the world. You'll be embarking on the interactive adventure of a lifetime - the lifetime of our planet. As if this wasn't enough, Dynamic Earth is home to Scotland's only 360 degree full dome film theatre. We have a variety of films showing throughout the year.

A journey back in time to the beginnings of the universe, starting with the big bang through the time of the dinousaurs up to present day. Lots of interactive displays with plenty of knobs and wheels. Digital displays give the impression of moving through space, finishing with a film on super volcanos---scary. What an amazing world we live on, an exciting adventure, even for a couple of old cynics.

We had our work Xmas party last night and the set up was elegant with little party favours of games and balloons for each table and attentive, well-turned out staff.
Initially we were all standing drinking in the bar area which was cramped and too hot, but the comp glass of bubbles was a nice touch.
The Parsnip soup was yummy, but unfortunately there was some confusion about my being vegetarian. I got the vegan option which was some pumpkin and a wee dribble of red pepper sauce in a pastry case (I imagine that the veggie option had cheese) with the same veggies as everyone else and no sauce. It was very dry and disappointing. Dessert was served and it was only when they tried to give me a fruit platter (unimaginative vegan option) that it became clear that I had been signed up for the wrong menu despite my having called to confirm a few days before. Once I received the correct dessert it was just lovely. A creamy kind of terrine thing with a fruity centre - nom nom :o)
The package included half a bottle of wine and a disco which contributed to what turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
The blushbooth was a stroke of genius. For £3 you can dress up using items provided and get a commemorative photo with a few friends.
I would recommend it for anyone considering it for their work party.

Nice touch of a glass of Champagne on arrival, Christmas meal was the usual affair but was good.
Bar was always busy so could have done with more bar staff
Disco was in a different room which was not very busy but it had glass walls which for some reason they opened at the end of the night, they should have opened them sooner
The toilets were down very steep steps there was a lift
It was a good night with good table service

Conference facilities at the very best, apart from the untimely fire alarm in the pouring rain, nevertheless this place is ideally placed for train stations city centre access, and a car park on site too, the exhibition for what wee seen of it looked and proved to be very interesting
