Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa

The Sheraton Hotel is well located in Edinburgh but the building itself is not remarkable. The rooms are spacious and we had a lovely view to the Castle. NOw you should not miss the Spa and the treatments. Book in advance is required even before you arrive if you are planning a short stay. Try the outside jacuzzi and you can have the mix of fresh air and warm water, a real pleasure.

We spent the long Bank Hoiliday weekend enjoying the Fringe festival whilst staying at the Sheraton.

This was our third stay having previously stayed in castle view club rooms. This time we tried a classic suite which we really enjoyed for a longer stay. We did miss the view a little but enjoyed the space and comfort - the lounge area is a similar size to the club rooms and then large double doors open on to a very large bedroom with a huge comfortable bed. The room was at the end of the corridoor and was incredibly quiet and the combination of all of this led to some of the best nights sleep we have ever had in a hotel.

Everything else is still as good as ever. The Club lounge is lovely and the spa pools and saunas etc are fabulous.

Edinburgh is a glorious city and this is a great hotel to see it from.

The Sheraton is ideally located- close enough to the main attractions but away from the "busy" parts of the city centre. The hotel was modern, well decorated and very clean. The rooms were attractively appointed and comfortable although a bit on the small side. The "mood lighting" controls were difficult to figure out and a bit frustrating. The air conditioning controls did not want to work properly, either. Service was excellent with the exception of very tardy room makeups buy the housekeeping staff. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Overall, a great stay!

A clean modern hotel in a convienient location for the center of Edinburgh and close enough to walk from Waverley station. The room was excellent with good lighting and air conditioning and was also quiet even on a Friday and Saturday night. The staff were efficient and helpful. Unfortunately I didn't get to use the gym or pool but I think these look very good

I didn't eat at the hotel and my rate didn't include breakfast and the price offered for that seemed rather steep so I went to the Cafe Nero opposite which was perfect

Room Tip: 6th floor room! and at the back

I stayed there for a couple of nights on the club level; the remodel is excellent and the rooms are very modern, clean, comfortable and fully equiped. I especially liked the new ensuite bathrooms and showers.

The hotel is well located at the west end of Princess St and Lothian Rd (on festival sq) and has all the facilities you could ask of a hotel of this quality and standard.

super comfortable, and an ideal location for business or pleasure.

Its all you would expect of a sheraton grand.

Room Tip: any room not overlooking "festival sq", despite sound proofing it can be noisy in the &quo...

The hotel is well located to see the city with lots of good restaurants close by and the staff was excellent. On the negative side the room was very small with too much furniture. The room size is good for one person. The lighting system was very hard to figure out and did not provide sufficient light. The thermostat was impossible to set, if I set it to 25 it never stopped until we were freezing and it went the other way and set it to 19 for heat, it would cook us out. In frustration I just shut it off. Other friends in the hotel had the same problems. The restaurant was excellent but very pricy.

The room was futuristically fabulous with varied lighting and sumptuous towels. The food in the restaurant was good and the service too but the drinks waiters/waitresses better for brunch then afternoon refreshments. We didnt pay the upgrade for a castle view so didnt really have a great one but made use of the rooftop pools and had a lovely sunny day so the open air infinity one was a great experience - even if the view of the surrounding buildings couldn't be helped. Good range of steam rooms to choose from too and helpful staff. Bathroom toiletries could be bigger...yet to beat the size offered at the Dakota anywhere. Very central location so would definitely return.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, upgrade to a castle view room.
