“A real walk of life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

I suspect that the Royal Mile is special at any time of the year, but at Festival time in August, with performances jostling for the attention of the milling crowd at virtually every step, it has a unique atmosphere

“A fascinating walk!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

Don't miss Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament at one end and the Castel at the other! The Royal Mile is full of wonderfully historic buildings - remember to look up as well as straight ahead so that you don't miss any of the wonderful sights. Take a moment to go inside Cannongate Church, the most beautifully understated and cosy chapel you could imagine. There are performances of various kinds there too. A fascinating mile to walk.

“Even with the Fringe going on, a fun place to shop and stroll”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

Lots of souvenir shops and attractions, as well as pubs and food shops line this Main Street of Edinburgh. Because of the Fringe, it was filled, but we also enjoyed the energy and enthusiasm of the actors and playwrites and street performers.

“Way Too Expensive”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

The Royal Mile is absolutely lovely but the gift shops are so overpriced. I have to admit that I walked in quite a few to buy gifts to take home but felt that I was being ripped off so walked out empty handed.
Its a shame I understand that this it their living and that for the 4 weeks of the Edinburgh Fringe and Tattoo they have to make enough to see them through the leaner months but I still think that this was a bit to overpriced.

“Great place to stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

The Royal Mile is a lovely area to walk and take pictures especially during Fringe Festival. It gets very crowded with tourists but still a great area filled with shops and pubs.
