Went into Radisson Blu Hotel for coffeees. Very nice. All the tartan shops etc are not our cup of tea but the walk was pleasant and everyone seemed happy enough in the sunshine.

“EVERYTHING IN ONE STREET”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Where else do you want to be on a rainy day in June than in Edinburgh go along the Royal Mile experience the shops, the history of Old Edinburgh, John Knoxx and the Edinburgh Castle, the Observatory and souvenir shops, plus whisky shops and bars serving culinary delights, you don't need Italy or France for romance Scotland has it all and you wont get you backside pinched or slapped by some greasy local.

“worth the effort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Yes it is a walk on an incline but when you keep stopping to take something in your not that bothered by the steepness. Besides the gift shops and the fast food outlets there is the history if you take time to find it. If you are fascinated enough take a guided tour. You can wonder into a pub or a church and get a feel of times long past. Even if you chose not to go into the castle it is well worth going up to the top of the street. The views are amazing and can stand for ages just taking it ll in.Yes it can be busy but where possible try to time your visist as well as you can to miss the crowds.

“An Edinburgh must”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Nearly everyone who comes to Edinburgh visits the Royal Mile. It's full of tourist type shops, from the cheap tacky kilt shops to the expensive tweed and whisky shops, something for all really. Along with this there are interesting statues, walkways and historic buildings to be seen and visited, well worth a trip.
