“You'll always want to go back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

The first impression you get is the one you keep during all your journey. A magnificent part of the city like no other you have ever visited. A fairy tale come true.

“nothing for cardrivers!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

To discover Scotland you need a car. The City of Edinburgh is doing everything to annoy car drivers. There are only few car parks and their pricings are nothing else than a rip off!
All the other parking places are short time options, only for cash off course or for residents only.

“Beautiful place”

Well worth a visit. Nice cobbled streets and small shops. Unfortunately it rained on my visit but enjoyed it anyway :)

“Outstanding piece of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

Great historical value and interest with so many wonderful old buildings and structures at every corner. A full day on foot recommended. Pity about the overload of silly Scottish souvenir shops all selling rubbish tartan and more cashmere than you could hope to find in India! Sadly beggars are at very corner and establish themselves at tourist spots. I thought the welfare system took care of these people?

“Lots of character”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

I've stayed twice at a self-catering a minute walk from Grassmarket. The new part has the shopping malls & sterile trendy shops etc - but old town is something else! It has character and that's why I wanted to stay there. Also, Royal Mile is the meeting point for many of the day trips, so it was practical to be closeby.
