Description: The Queens Arms has been an Edinburgh fixture for many years; the latest incarnation finds it reborn as a gastropub, although long-time customers will be pleased to know that the renovation has preserved the layout and most of the original features. This new look is charming customers and critics alike they've recently scooped Best Gastropub at the 2010 DRAM (Drinks Retailing and Marketing) Awards. It's no wonder with the food they have on offer Scottish classics, really, but with a modern twist. Dishes like the Ayreshire slow-cooked pork belly, served with a haggis fritter and colcannon exemplify their dedication to sourcing quality local produce. It's not only the food that customers are praising though The Queens Arms also boasts friendly and efficient service and a solid offering of whiskies, cocktails and wine and beer (including several real ales). As well as serving delicious meals, the dcor - quirky original and new features, as well as cosy booth style seating - and the TV screens showing local matches mean this is an excellent place to while away a lazy afternoon in the city.

Gorgeous pub (very cute tables with saloon doors), excellent service (the new beer had almost always arrived before the last was finished), and very tasty food. I will forever be searching for Cullen Skink this good. I have a feeling I'll have to return to Edinburgh to get it! The mussels were also very good.

Earlier this week we had a fantastic lunch in the Queens Arms . great food & tourist help from the guys in the bar .
Decided to go back another evening for food .
Asked the young waitress "do we need to book a table" .." No " .Fair enough , it was Wednesday .
Arrived at 8pm ... No Tables, the bar was sort of occupied by males with pints but not eating !!
So dissapointed. Trailed around & ended up with a pretty poor Italian meal .
Ach well .......

We'd previously had a pint here, and heard the food was good. So on our visit t Edinburgh last weekend we booked a table. We were in on of the little booths at the back, which was great.

They have 4/5 handpumps serving real ales. Unfortuntely I cant remember what my wife and I had but both pints were very good. For starters we had cullen skink. It was excellant; probably the best cullen skink we have had. Only little gripe: a little more liquid would have been better. However it was packed with flavour especially the chunks of smoked haddock.

For mains I had chicken. Normally I dont have chicken in a pub/restaurant as it can be dry but this was not. The chicken breasts came with a crust/skin which added to the flavour and the haggis flavoured mash was great.

there are only 4/5 dishes on the menu for both starters and mains so some might find this limiting. They brought a jug of water to the table without being asked.

All in all a great visit and we would definately return!

We had an awesome time at this bar! Went here for drinks at night and stayed here the whole time! Talked with some locals, listened to some great tunes, and overall just enjoyed being there. A must-go!

As this place had good reviews and we were passing we thought we'd give it a go. It looked very busy from the outside on the street level! The place had a lot of locals having Friday drinks but we found a table. The menu is short but sweet and reasonably priced. I chose fish with chorizo and my partner had a homemade burger. Both were lovely. The cocktail menu is unique and a must try (the sloe gin is gorgeous), the ale selection is also great with different choices each week. The service was fantastic, and the overall atmosphere had a good buzz.
