“An interesting place just to sit and relax”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

If your weary walking along Princess Street, Edinburgh and want a break from all the tourist bustling about or just want to sit and relax maybe waiting for that special friend or blind date or even read a book, there,s no better place to just sit and look out at the castle and the beautiful blue sky and feel that radiant Scottish sunshine (who needs the beaches of the Carribean or Spain, Scotland has it all !!) there's no better place. **WARNING - IF YOU ARE GOING ON A BLIND DATE PLEASE BE CAREFUL AS NOT EVERYONE IS WHAT THEY APPEAR TO BE !!***

“Summer or winter, it's nice”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

In the summer it's full of people enjoying the vast amount of flowers on show in the summer air. In the winter it's home to and ice ring and the famous German markets

These gardens are what makes Ediburgh a great place to visit. With the castle high up in the background, the masses of grass areas, plenty of places to sit and look up to the castle and other sites and then, cross Princes Street for some top class retail therapty in George Street, Rose Street as well as Princes Street. A great capital venue.

“Nice open space in between tall large buildings”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

well kept gardens with plenty of nature animals and birds. The paths are spotless with no litter around. There are plenty of seats to sit & watch the birds etc. or to watch the hussle & bussle of Princess Street passing by, whilst admiring the many large Victorian buildings and monuments

“Lovely during Festive season”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We were lucky enough to visit during the Christmas/New Year break, when the German markets, ice skating rink and decorations were happening. This place was really enjoyable, with terrific warm foods and mulled wine available and plenty of rides for young and old alike. It lovely to sit back on the park bench and watch the ice skaters enjoying this festive atmosphere. And the view of Edinburgh Castle lit up at night from the top of the ferris wheel was spectacular! Made for a relaxing and enjoyable time after the hustle and bustle in the nearby shops.
