The sun was shining and it was so nice to have somewhere to rest my legs after all the walking! The gardens are kept to such a high standard, there was nothing I acan say wrong

The gardens are beautifully maintained with a wonderful view of the Castle. Plenty of seating and a great central location for a break from shopping :)

To be in the City Centre these gardens are special, they are sunken taking you away from the Hussle and bussle of Princes Street especially the upheaval with the tram fiasco. The gardens are well kept, and peaceful but feel quite safe even if there are 1 or 2 "worthies" sitting about. Anytime in Edinburgh I make apoint of just walking through the gardens.

Sir William Scott monument is remarkable but the four tiered walking area, gardens and sitting areas worked best for us. This is close to Princess Market and dining. A short or long visit woks. Sit and read and watch the scots pass by.

Walk through the park on your way to the castle, fresh, nice flowers, walk all the way to the floral clock, worth the detour.
