A traditional pub with a lot of character this place seemed to be the ideal venue for a quick late lunch before an afternoon appointment.
We ordered two bowls of Cullen Skink - and set back in the welcoming environment.
25 minutes later we were still waiting - now panicking about missing our appointment an enquiry at the bar indicated that there was still an undetermined wait because of a big party which had ordered just before us.
At no point had we been advised of a delay - indeed the cutlery had been delivered
to the table after about 10 minutes we seemed to presage the imminent standard delivery time for a soup.
The understanding barman cancelled the order without argument and we dashed out hungry and disappointed.
Nice place - shame about the service and communication.
