Also known as the High Kirk of Edinburgh, it is the Mother Church of Presbyterianism and contains the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle (Scotland’s chivalric company of knights headed by the Queen). Beautiful cathedral on the Royal Mile. Easy to spot. The architecture is beautiful and it centers the Royal Mile. Still a working church and you can attend services. We didn't but we did enjoy going in and having a look around.

Great history to the place. Loves the little chapel. Don't forget to look up. Great info from the docents.

In comparison with some of the European monsters, this is a small affair, but it has seen a lot more action. Plenty of important event occurred in or around this building, which is very old, and still in good condition. Worth an hour, just to say you've been in.

St Giles’ Cathedral is a jewel that the Royal Mile hides from the public except those
who explore and find the treasures that this beautiful cathedral as to offer.
The Cathedral is grey and imposing yet when you enter the Cathedral your breath is taken away by the sheer beauty that the heart of the cathedral as to offer the visitors.
The Cathedral charges £2.00 for a photo pass, which is well worth purchasing

This church is a magical place, where you can be in touch with God. We'd the opportunity to listen a chorus...it was wonderful experience...like angels! I recommend you visit this place if you'll go to Edinburgh.
