It was a really surprising place!
You can walk around to check the scotland history, but also the city view. Amazing visit!

Just wow. What a fabulous national treasure. Thank you for preserving such a site for visitors to see. Have tea in the tea room for an extra treat. Be sure to explore all the nooks and crannies of this big facility, but wear sturdy shoes. A lot of climbing stairs.

super place to go but not for the faint hearted if your not into heights however a typical british attraction for tourists, tourist = charge maximum price, scones and cream and 2 slices of cake and coffee over £25 but apart from this a lovely day

Maybe my expectations were too high, but thought the pricing was outrageous expensive especially if you wanted to hire an audio set which have been included in the entry fee in other venues. Very busy ad limited access to lots of areas. On a positive note, the free guide we had was very funny and knowledgeable.

Our tour guide could not tell us too much about the castle once we got inside. We understand that outside guides are limited to certain points (4 or 5)where they can talk and are not allowed to just stop anywhere. It's interesting to see where Mary's son, who became James I of England, was born. You can walk thru the treasury and see the Scottish Crown Jewels. It's an interesting place but hard to figure out without some kind of commentary. They do rent audio guides - I would suggest trying that.

I was really looking forward to this and was a little disappointed. The views are beautiful.

It is uphill. So it could be a little strenuous.

They were building the stadium for the Military Tattoo in August. They build it every year and take it down and rebuild it the next.
