Who would have thought a beautiful clear sunny day in February and the views from all around the castle over Edinburgh are magnificent. Try and get there early as it does get busy and allow plenty of time as it is in fact more like a small town /village than just a castle. There are several different buildings housing different exhibitions, although I am not a greatly interested in military /history if you are you could easily take all day to see everything As with the rest of Edinburgh if your name is from a "clan" you will find plenty of gifts to buy in fact you feel quite out of it if you are not a "clan" name
