“Off season visit”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Not very busy, but a superb time to visit, really friendly staff and a great ship, so much to see and really lets you understand what a pity it is that the Royal family no longer have this yacht.

Many thanks for your five-star review, RussTraveller. As you say, if you’re looking to visit at a quieter time, the winter months are a great opportunity to see Britannia, as you can sometimes feel as if you have the ship to yourself at certain points on the tour.

“An Edinburgh Gem”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Despite living in Edinburgh for a year, this was my first visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It was fascinating to get a glimps into the private life of the Royal family and the history of the yacht.

The price of an audio guide is included in the price, personally I prefer to read the information rather than use an audio guide but there was enough written information and the audio guide can be used for extra information.

It was well worth the visit.

Fantastic to hear you were finally able to visit, Matt, and enjoyed the tour so much. I hope you will apply for your free Annual Pass as it will give you free admission for the next 12 months and a 15% discount in the Tea Room and Gift Shop. Also, we do have written copies of the audio tour, so please feel free to request one of these next time you visit. Many thanks for taking the time to recommend us on TripAdvisor.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

This was a great day out. Wasnt sure what to expect but really enjoyed it . Before you board you are given a hand held guide you are told what numbers to key in at the different sections on board and you are given an informative talk as you proceed. The guide can be taken at your own leisure and you can take as long as you like. All staff on board were very friendly and we had a conversation with one off the guides named Rodger who was both helpful and informative.Well wotrth a visit. Moored beside a large shopping mall plenty of choice for shopping and eaitng.
