Nice leisurely stroll round the decks and rooms. Good audio so you can take it all in at your own pace. Only one Tour Bus goes out to Leith but it's worth getting on that.

Thanks for your comments, Liz and Ian. We are honoured that Britannia's Royal Barge is to have such a key role in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. I'm glad you found so much of interest on board Britannia.

A magnificent floating palace carrying all the courtiers, guards, servants.etc as well as the Royal Family and their car. The one double bed, in the honeymoon suite, must be jinxed as only three couples ever slept in it and all were divorced. There is a good audio guide so you can take as much or as little time as you like. The Royal barge and 2 escort boats are down in London for the Queens Jubilee Water Pageant. The kitchens are still operative as it is a favourite venue for corporate entertaining and they make fudge for the punters.Tip- for a super view of the yacht have a coffee in Debenhams cafe right on the quayside.

We were there with a tour. Would have loved to have had time to shop in the nice Mall that is attached to the attraction. We were given headphones of sort and you walked the decks hitting buttons to listen. Not a must do thing, but nice.

The yacht was very interesting to tour and you really got a great feel for what it was like onboard. The only downside was that it was necessary to call a taxi for a return to the city....there were no cabs waiting outside, which was surprising since there is also a shopping mall at the entrance. We noticed people having a difficult time figuring out how to find a cab. We had been lucky enough to have our driver there leave us with a card & instructions.

Thanks for your review, good to hear your positive comments about the tour. The customer service desk at Ocean Terminal (where Britannia is berthed) would be able to help with taxi information also after your visit to Britannia.

Despite its rather incongruous position permanently moored behind a shopping centre in Leith, Britannia is beautifully displayed, allowing visitors access to all of the most interesting parts of this iconic Royal Yacht. The royal apartments are of particular interest, as is the stark contrast between these and the distinctly humbler areas reserved for the crew. It takes a couple of hours to really take it all in, but it was a high point of our visit to Edinburgh.
