“Exellent little place!”

Have been into Port of Siam several times and will continue to go back.
The food is brilliant and service is superb. I have even been in a group where someone was allergic to shellfish and the chef's were able to fully accommodate him.
Always have a brilliant time when I go there and would recommend to anyone who wants either a romantic mean by the harbor, a group meal a group meal for something special or even just for a quick bite somewhere nice.

“Good quality fresh food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

We visited due to our love of Thai food and the reviews on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is small and cosy and we were lucky to get a table. The staff and service is just great and I liked the way they freely supply iced water. The menu is relatively short and, whilst that is often a good thing, we struggled to choose. In hindsight, I think we didn't make the best choices so I think my judgement may be a little clouded with regard to the overall meal. That said, the chicken satay starter was fabulous. Not a cheap eat but certainly worth a try if you enjoy Thai food and find yourself staying in the Leith area.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review of our restaurant. I am sorry that you felt that you did not make the best choices from our menu and this reflected in your enjoyment of part of the meal. We do favour a much shorter menu that a lot of other Asian restaurants as this generally allows us to ensure better control over the preparation of the dishes and to meaningfully vary the menu to reflect seasonal availability of produce. Our staff are always willing to discuss and describe our offerings and this often leads diners to making a successful choice. And, if all else fails, as it says in the menu, we are happy to make our version of any traditional dishes that a guest may request.

Once again, thanks for your custom and time and I do hope you give us another opportunity, when next in the area.

Best Regards,

Port of Siam.

“Small but perfectly formed...”

My son has taken to Thai food in a big way recently and as our usual restaurant does not open on a Sunday, we went down to Newhaven and really enjoyed the food at port of Siam. We had the set menu option which was great value - my starter prawns were superb and went well with one of the best dipping sauces I've ever had.

We both agreed that we will venture down here again as it fully met our expectations and it's Tripadvisor rating.

“Must book - so good”

We live locally and just love this tiny Thai restaurant by the harbour at Newhaven. The food is top quality and seafood especially fresh and delicious. I believe they ate about to open a second restaurant more centrally- bound to be a hit
