We phoned to book a table, suggesting eating at 7 or 7.30. They asked if we could be a little flexible and make it for 6.45 as needed the table back at 8.45. We don't really like being hurried over dinner, however, we still went ahead and booked. The Friday night traffic caught us out and we arrived late at 6.55. Being unable to the have their tasting menu we had picked due to "insufficient time" (like it was our fault)... Wen then had to check the menu again and choose something else. By now we felt uneasy and annoyed that we could not enjoy a relaxed meal together. The food was great, the service was great, but obviously the ploy is to cram in two sittings. To top it off, when we got home there was a message on the answer machine to say the table was reserved for 6.30 and as it was now nearly 7pm, were we still planning to join them!
What a sham they could not afford to seat people at their chosen time and made us feel that we had to hurry up!,
