Neighborhood: New Town
Description: This new Indian restaurant in the centre of Edinburghs New Town has carved out a little niche for itself amongst the art galleries and antique shops along Dundas Street. Open for lunch and dinner, The Spice Pavilion attracts a well-heeled crowd of art lovers, and the interior a modern space inspired by the rich colours of colonial India is a stylish choice for both leisurely or business lunches and a romantic spot for evening meals. The kitchens philosophy is to take away the focus from heat and shift it to herbs and spices, giving the curries at The Spice Pavilion lovely fresh flavours which are complimented by an impressive range of wines from Australia and Italy.

We had been to Edinburgh on holiday & wanted to try an Indian Restaurant for dinner. I must say, this little place near the center of Edinburgh was worth the 15 mt walk from Waverly bridge. The food was so good that we returned the next day for dinner again. Not to forget the waiter was very friendly & service oriented. Highly recommended !

We found this place on tripadvisor while looking for a good curry after a long golf game. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. The menu has many options and remained reasonable for a curry. I highly recommend the restaurant for a good curry in Edinbugh.

We booked for a large group (38), which was almost the whole restaurant, and were given the option of a set menu for £17, or choosing from the main menu.

Many problems could have arisen from catering for such a large group, but the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, and perfectly spicy, and the drinks were great value.

To receive not a single grumble of complaint from such a large group is remarkable. My only observation is, I would have welcomed some background Indian music (although on this occasion, I doubt
we would have heard it over us)

I would definitely recommend this restaurant :)

We have now had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant a few times in the last few years and due to the consistently high standard and flavours of the food we would have no hesitation in returning again whenever we are in Edinburgh, and also in recommending this as a first stop shop for anyone looking for great flavours, great service and a memorable taste experience. Although there was a good period of time between visits, the staff remembered our names and even what type of meals we had previously which is an amazing and admirable talent in this day and age.
It was a really hot day when we visited and the temperature, ambience and atmosphere inside were just right.
