“Fantastic burgers and great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We stumbled upon this place as we were walking down Royal Mile one Monday afternoon. The menu outside looked good, so we went inside and settled down at a table. Although the pub was almost empty, there was still a certain amount of charm to the place. Our drinks orders were taken swiftly and brought to us promptly by a friendly member of staff. We ordered burgers and a special request to have jalapeños added to my burger was not a problem at all. The food was presented on a wooden board, with a small metal pot of chips and two small dishes of ketchup and salsa. At first, I thought that the portion size looked small, but it was more than enough, as I was very full afterwards. The price was good - roughly £25 for two burger meals, a glass of wine and a pint of Guinness. I would definitely return here.

“Amazing fish & chips!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Lovely, friendly pub on the High Street. We felt really comfortable here and could've stayed all afternoon. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! The fish & chips were ordered came wrapped in paper with a pickled onion - perfect! They were so good.

Really would recommend this place for a stop-off to refuel on a touristy walk around the Old Town.

“Good value friendly pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Called in here on a cold Sunday evening. Very friendly staff. Decent selection of cask ale. Standard food menu but Mrs E. thought her clansmen burger was above average. My steak & ale pie was excellent with fresh veg and crispy chips.
