“Simple idea, good for a pitstop”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Loved this place, just does one thing- pig in a bap! You can get it with stuffing, apple and haggis. My boyfriend said his was great (he had haggis) and I agreed.
No real searing area but we pirched against a shop a few shops down the road.
A good pitstop after the castle as it was a 3 min walk away.

“Good for a snack!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We went to Oink at 11 a.m. We were in the mood of eating something but not a proper lunch and since we didn't want another sandwich, we tried Oink!

It was good to have some meat sandwich which was not chicken. The apple sauce with the pork was superb!

“Pig Crackle - AS FOR IT!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

The pork sandwiches here are so good. They make it fast with great tasting sauces paired up with the tender meat. The skin of the pig is hard, crunchy and so salty. You get a piece if you ask for it, free of charge. Mmm good.

“Wouldn't hurt to smile...”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

The pork roll itself was fine, for Edinburgh it makes a decently priced lunch stop.

However the people serving were almost surly when fulfilling our orders, which detracted from my enjoyment of the pork itself, and doesn't make me keen to return.

These guys are on to a good thing, they could make it a great experience if they were friendly and welcoming to their customers!

“Best,unique meal in Edinburgh!”
Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

I went here based on my Rick Steve's travel book and walking by it. This was such a great meal (I tried the haggis but opted for sage and onions)! I am from the Midwest where pulled pork is the BBQ of choice and the pork roast sandwich from Oink was so tasty and unique I would say it was better!! As a meat scientist, it was perfectly roasted, moist and had no warmed over flavor; it was simply the best meal I had in Edinburgh.
