Description: Scottish Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2012 After two really successful years in Edinburgh's old port district, Leith, we've moved to larger premises up town, on the Newtown Stockbridge border. Still doing the same - 100% fresh, seasonal fish and shellfish with a daily changing menu. Great selective wine list, a fab range of Bollinger champagnes, and a great space to dine in. 70 covers, open seven days April to October and Tuesday to Saturday November through until March, looking forward to seeing you!

Great little place tucked away in Stockbridge. It is uncomplicated, great food, friendly service and it does not matter whether you dress up or not. Great place to relax and dine - superb value evening

This is without doubt my my favourite local restaurant. The food is consistent - always excellent. The service is friendly and efficient. The ambience is relaxed and you'd be comfortable dining dressed up or down. The 'Fish & Chips' are the best I've tasted EVER! They even have a great wine list and friendly advice about what to try.

Definitely 'officially' my favourite 'local' restaurant. The food is consistent - always excellent.
The service is friendly and efficient. The ambience is relaxed and you'd be comfortable dining dressed up or down. The 'Fish & Chips' are the best I've tasted in years. The 'King Prawn & Monkfish' Curry is really delicious. and at lunchtime there's an imaginative Tapas menu perfect for sharing, 3 between 2 is plenty. The wine list is very good and not too steep. I'd recommend 'the Gavi'. I'd encourage locals & visitors to dine here. This is a 'neighbourhood' restaurant that deserves a city wide clientele.

As an Edinburgh resident, I am a serial returner to this restaurant. The weekend atmosphere is good and lively. Recommend the oyster shooter to get one in the mood straight off.

Our first visit to Cafe Fish was a game of two halves.
The service was friendly enough and the recommendations were thoughtful and helpful. Our main courses did not disappoint, the sea bream was especially good. The recommended wine went down a treat.
However two of the oysters we ordered were off. One was consumed before this became apparent and we felt we were sitting on a potential time bomb in terms of the possible outcome. Of the remaining oysters another smelt off. The waiter took thus away and came back to tell us that the chef agreed and that possibly they had 'sat in water too long that day'. We were offered two oysters to compensate or the oysters to be taken off the bill. We chose the latter.
We were a bit taken aback when reviewing the bill to discover that we had been charged for 4 oysters..not 6. Perhaps good Customer Service would have dictated something better, the entire dish not being charged for. No apology was offered either.
A shame because this restaurant has a lot going for it...

Hi, I did email you via trip advisor regarding the charging issue for the oysters - shouldn't have happened so apologies from us - give us a call and ask for Murray or Richard!
