This is my pick of a nice surprise in Edinburgh. Very friendly staff, they will even open the front door for you. There is no entry fee, so you can just come in. In its few rooms, you will see the history of Scottish banking, forgery, coinage and banking products like insurance and mortgages. Lots of activities for children, and informative exhibits for the rest of us. Nice way to see how a million pounds in cash looks like (bit bulky). The size of the museum is just right too - not too much of an overload. Nice gift shop at the end, again with various things for everyone. Perfectly makes up for the "missing" museum of a central bank (which is of course in London). Would definitely go there again.
