The actual cafe was lovely. Food and drinks a little pricey compared to other places. I had a chicken Caesar salad (not huge) £14. It waant anything exceptional. Afternoon tea was £21.95 per person.

The room is a lovely space. Elegant and classic architecture. We had such high expectations here but possibly made a poor choice of dish. The Grande Cafe brunch platter leaves alot to be desired. A large hunk of toasted bread, a large wodge of brie, a boiled egg, stringy tasteless salmon and tasteless pre-packed ham. On a plate, not a platter. What a weird combination. There was not one thing I would say was even moderately good apart from the croissant. At £13.00 I expected better. Coffee and smoothie (with way too much ice) cost extra. The table next to us had ordered the Scottish brunch item which looked better. Chef, this plate is just plain wrong. I cancelled our booking for afternoon tea based on this menu item. Reservation manager was understanding and professional. Manager also, but discount that was offered did not come through on my card.

I booked an afternoon tea/matinee cinema package for my birthday. It was listed on my reservation what we were there for. The waiter asked us which kind of afternoon tea we wanted - but the type of afternoon tea was already chosen when booking, so we were confused. I looked up the package on the website because the full details were not included in the booking email. I had to remind the waiter that Prosecco was part of it. There was no option to choose which items you had within the afternoon tea. I had to ask whether we could choose the type of tea beverages, as it wasn’t explained. We finally got some clarity from the supervising staff member. At the end of the meal we asked where the cinema was situated - and the waiter asked if we would like the bill- despite knowing we were there for the pre-paid cinema package . Thankfully the customer service in the cinema downstairs was excellent

Visited here just for a coffee and after waiting over 25 minutes still hadn’t even got the coffee. Other people who came in after us got served before we were because they had ordered food too. No apologies offered so I took my custom elsewhere

Wow where do I start the service was awful...in fact no service. We had to ask if we could order drinks, no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks and we waited 20 minutes for them to arrive. Waiter who was taking our order walked away whilst taking it. Food was cold, burger burnt, chicken tough. Took 3 hours to eat 2 courses due to having to wait. We refused to pay the food bill and there was no push back from manager at all. Would not recommend. Very disappointing as venue looks great.
