“Super Service”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

I have dined at 56 North twice in the last two weeks. On the first occasion with my wife, son, daughter in law and two young grandsons and then with my wife. On both occasions service was superb and the food very good. Neil looked after us on the second occasion and a very pleasant and helpful Irishman gave us equally kind service and was very good with the grandsons. Service was prompt as well considerate.

“Food pretty bad”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Went with a voucher for the christmas meal, it was two days after christmas and I think the food had been bought in a fortnight before christmas, it certainly tasted old. The 'goats cheese' starter was one small thin slice of french stick, smeared with jam and the thinnest, smallest slice of goat cheese. Chewy cardboard was the overall effect. I had the turkey which was mainly sour-tasting stuffing, a bit of dubious meat and a few veg, the best bit by far, even the tatties were pretty horrid and hard as bullets. Someone who had the fish declared it pretty bad, it was certainly small, and perched on a pile of tasteless mash. Worse was to come with the yule log, max half inch thick slice of something Iceland would be ashamed to sell, must have come from the cheapest wholesaler in the city. However the bellini cocktail was very good and the mulled wine, both included in the deal, was ok, bit sweet for some but I liked it. Service ok.

“You have to go!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We went here as I had a KGB voucher deal - steak, chips, cabbage, a cocktail included. Really lovely meal, great ambience and attentive service. The food was lovely and we will definitely return. Very extensive menu, lots of gin choices and cocktails.

“Many positives”
Reviewed December 11, 2013 via mobile

Visited here this weekend as part of a festive party.
To start with the food and service were both fantastic. At this time of year its easy to understand staff being stressed and certain things can slip, but this was not the case here. I truly great time was had by all!!
The value for money was fantastic and as its a local I'll definitely be back for more.
