“Found this place through a website deal, will be back”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We bought a kgb deal voucher for steak and chips. I always think because you get it on a deal you get the bare minimum, not here the steak was perfect. I seen a few desserts coming out the kitchen but i didn't have room for anything else, staff were always nearby if you needed anything. I had a quick look at the cocktail menu and seen a few I liked and were reasonably priced. I would've liked to look at the food menu to see what else was on offer but this was taken away when we sat down I'm sure if we asked to see it, it wouldn't have been a problem. I can always look it uo on there website.

“great bar”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Ate on a saturday tea time. Bar was very busy but the waiter managed to find a booth to sit in which was great. |Starter was a mixed bag the fish cakes where soggy and look warm however the potato wedges with cheese and bacon where wonderful probably the best i have eaten. We both had steaks one with peppercorn sauce and other with blue cheese sauce i have to mention the onion rings they where fantastic. Our waitress was friendly and efficent we had no complaints and would go back.

“lovely food”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

We had a deal £23 for 2 steaks and a drink, friendly service and a great steak. Although its served with those stringy chips which are full of fat. I think it would be better with chunky chips but thats just me

“Great service, lovely meal with wonderful cocktails!”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

We, like quite a few of the other reviewers on here had an ITISON voucher which gave us 2 steak dinners with 2 cocktails for £22. This was not the best meal i've ever had but if you think that you'd be about £12 for two large fast food meals it's incredible value for money. The server we had (Imogen) was lovely, very smiley and helpful, there was the another one that didn't crack a smile all the time we were in so glad I didn't get her.
Steaks were done to perfection, I asked if I could leave the chips and they piled on the salad which was fresh crispy and varied. The blue cheese sauce came in a small jar and while it was very tasty it was a bit runny. I had the Cherry Tree Iced Tea and Porn Star Martini (Hubby had a bottle of wine-£16) both were very potent and not in any way diluted because of the voucher thing.
It was a beautiful night and there are lots of tables outside, eclectic crowd, great atmosphere

“Nice pub food in student land”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

This is an ideal place for a cocktail and bit of grub before a night out. Cocktails are reasonable (start around £4) and they usually have a decent amount of good beers in. Burgers are good quality with a huge choice (7-8 different types).

Nice atmosphere on a weekend evening, and normally a little quieter through the week.
