After a Saturday afternoon wander in town Mrs DJ fancied a nice burger and had spotted this restaurant and thought it looked nice. At 6pm they had a walk in table but needed it back by 7:30. For 2 courses that should be plenty of time. The place is part wine cocktail/wine bar part restaurant and was pretty busy, decent atmosphere. Our table was at the window near stairs down to the toilets. Afterwards Mrs DJ said that there was a bit of an unpleasant waft coming from downstairs. Bit of attention to cleaning I think.
Service was not quick ( but waitresses and bar tender were very pleasant). We shared a plate of nachos and they were good, home made nachos and not a bag of Doritos. The burger was fine, nothing special, and the obligatory, mildly pretentious and portion controlled bucket of fries was presented. We were asked if we wanted desserts but as slow service had taken us to 7:30 I suspected we would not have impressed them if we had asked for them. Their problem though. We had train to catch so paid up and left.
All in all a bit of style over substance. Maybe ok for Saturday afternoon drinks and a chat with friends than a place for a family meal.
