Visited the cafe twice during a stay in Edinburgh. Both times was a good experience. Food was good and quickly delivered. Not the cheapest sandwich but certainly worth it

My friends and I had breakfast here instead of at our hotel, and I am so glad we did!

We both ordered the full Scottish breakfast after a heavy night out, and it was exactly wat we needed! Everything was cooked to perfection, with no soggy, greasy mess in sight! The sausage and bacon were excellent, but the best part was the mushrooms, yes, the mushrooms! They were cooked with some sort of herbs and were simply delicious! Both plates of food were served up with a massive plate of hot buttered toast, 2 mugs of tea and a couple of fresh juices for a very reasonable price! A lot less than we would have paid at our hotel for warmed up food!
Although we choose a less health, cooked breakfast, the menu actually caters for everyone. Also offering gluten free bread etc.
We loved the place and could have sat there longer if we didn't need to get back home. The only reason I havn't given it 'excellent' is that there was a lack of tattie scone and black pudding in their breakfast and the table we were sitting at was a little too low for our chairs. Really, totally minor points, and not worth missing a visit to this great cafe for!

We visited Two Thin Laddies for lunch on the 22nd. February. If you are fed up with Cafe chains you might appreciate this independent business. The interior is clean and attractive and the lunch menu choice was very good. Food quality was excellent. The only thing that let this restaurant down on this occasion was service was a little patchy, they seemed a little understaffed the stress of which may have accounted for the waitress getting our bill wrong and attempting to overcharge us - she seemed a little reluctant to recalculate - fortunately, a more senior member of staff stepped in and resolved this issue promptly to our satisfaction, as a result we would consider returning again if in the area.

Food was of really high quality and tasted perfect! The value was brilliant and really reasonable! The staff were really friendly and there was quick service. The atmosphere was just amazing...there was beautiful art work on the walls and lovely music playing in the background quietly...it felt you were abroad, soo wonderful!
