Paul, John and Molly, THANK YOU for the best 3 days stay in Edinburgh we've had.
The B&B is fantastically contemporary and homely, with everything you can think of at hand. The rooms were very clean, smart design and comfortable. The breakfasts were the best we've ever had (and I travel a lot), all freshly made with fresh ingredients, the daily specials are to die for and while Paul cooks away in the kitchen, John serves the guests in the dining room. Molly the house labradoodle, was silent and quiet, snuggled away from the guests and only coming out when asked too, as dog lovers we couldn't resist a walk to shop with Molly. Although the B&B is a little out of town (20 mins walk), I do not see this as a negative as the scenery is beautiful and the public transport is right outside the door and very reasonably priced. Johns restaurant recommendations were not to be dismissed, the food and atmosphere was great. We will be booking in again for the fringe festival next year and will hopefully fit a few more weekend visits in between.
I would recommend 94DR to everyone, gay, straight, famlies, singles.

Had a lovely two night stay at 94DR in the Bowmore room with husband and 10 year old son. Paul, John and Molli the dog were so lovely and the accommodation was gorgeous. The room had everything we needed and had a fantastic view to Salisbury Crag and Arthur's Seat. Fantastic breakfast, made a lovely jug of Hot Chocolate for Matthew and us all delicious choices of Granola, Fruit and Yoghurt and Pancakes with Fruit and Maple Syrup, Eggs Benedict or Full Cooked Breakfast. Everything was so well presented with so many lovely touches which made it so nice, but it was especially nice because Paul and John were such a pleasure to be around! Loved everything!!! xxx

Room Tip: The family room wasn't available but we were very kindly accommodated in the large Bowmore room with a temporary bed for our son which was absolutely perfect as it was such a large room.

Why give 94DR 5 stars? Because you can't give them six in this rating system! Great house, fine rooms, the best breakfast ever ( with a different special every morning) and hosts that make you feel more than welcome. Would stay there again any time. Paul and John make reservations in great restaurants, too. Our boys loved it as much as we did.

We stayed two nights in June. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good quality bed. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts John & Paul were friendly, caring and accommodating. We ate early the evening we arrived at a restaurant recommended by the boys and we were not disappointed. A limited number of car parking is available on premises and there are a number of buses that run to the city centre that can be caught from outside the B&B. The morning we checked out we had to leave super early so John & Paul left us a breakfast bag to take with us which included salmon bagels, breakfast bars, yoghurt, juice and fruit, it was great. We had a wonderful stay at 94DR and only wish we could have stayed long. We would definitely stay again.

We cannot praise Paul and John and their superb guest house 94DR highly enough. This was our fourth visit to Edinburgh to visit our son who has been studying at Edinburgh University since 2008 and after reading glowing reports about 94DR before our first visit, we chose to stay there and now, on our fourth visit we feel as though we are coming home to special and very caring family.
The entire guest house is beautifully decorated and Paul and John make every possible effort to make all their guests feel incredibly welcome. And as for Paul's breakfasts - they are incredibly delicious and superbly presented with different speciality dishes freshly prepared and served in their bright, light modern conservatory. No breakfasts at any 5 star hotel can top yours Paul. You are truly a gourmet chef!!!!!
The rooms are so spacious, well appointed and comfortable with incredible attention to detail. Hosts John and Paul are a fountain of information on their beautiful city and their restaurant recommendations for lunches and dinners were fantastic.
Do yourself a favour and book in at 94DR when you go to Edinburgh. You'll be in for a real treat!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are wonderful!!
