Description: Our newest and largest venture, Cafe Andaluz hopes to bring a little bit of Spain to George Street, Edinburgh. Sharing tapas is a great way to eat socially and we make our dishes fresh and as varied as possible. All our dishes are prepared using the best raw materials and are all prepared on the premises. Our wines are sourced solely from Spain and our Sangria is made from traditional recipes passed down through generations. Our staff will always be available to offer advice on menu choices and recommend some of their favourites.

A friend and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon when they had a deal of 3courses for around £12. All the dishes were excellent and the portions were huge. I would recommend the mushrooms with garlic in truffle oil and the prawns with chilli. I have never been here eating from the a la carte menu but this deal is certainly great value...I didn't need any dinner.

Love this restaurant! Love the decor the traditional Spanish look of the place really makes a difference. All the staff are lovely very helpful never seem under staffed although it is always busy. Tapas portions are very generous as well as the desert! Always leave feeling stuffed. This is the only restaurant I would bring guests to for a trip to Edinburgh. Only points that would improve this would be butter at room temperature and patatas bravas would be better withought the skins and smaller cubes. Favourite dishes are chorizo and blackpudding in tom sauce and pork cheek.

Went for lunch with a friend where the deal is £11.95 for 3 tapas. Some you pay extra for like prawns, scallops etc. food came out quickly in one go and the portions are very generous. Scallops and leeks was a highlight as was the chorizo. Tortilla less impressive and the garlic prawns, must have had about a whole head of garlic in them... Not a bad thing if that's what you want but don't order them if you have an afternoon of meetings ahead. We had 3 wait staff serve us and not one of them smiled. Not once.

I went here with a group of friends and, first things first, the decoration, is amazing. Really really good, especially considering that you are in the middle of George Street. Very Spanish themed and very captivating.

The food however, was a hit or miss. In some cases it was very good, but in some others, it was too oily or had flavours that were too overpowering. And sure enough you could say that's the essence of Spanish food, but I am Spanish and I can tell you it tasted nothing like it should. Very good value for money though, may try it again, but there are slightly better Spanish places in Edinburgh, don't believe me, check the top of the restaurant list ;)

Went here on a week night, the place was beautifully decorated and has a lovely warm atmosphere. We ate from the menu del dia which proved to be an ample mix of dishes for two people. Without exception these dishes were all delicious: fresh, tasty and well prepared. The potatas bravas packed a fiery chilli punch so be warned! It worked beautifully when contrasted with the creamy goats cheese though.

We will definitely return on our next trip.
