Couldn't be more impressed. The service is impeccable much better than it's neighbour Kushi. Mo the manager is always extremely friendly and the food is fantastic particularly Tandoori Chicken and the lamb Karahi.

This gets a 'very good' based on the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.
It is a lovely contemporary decor and comfortable environment. The tikka masala was one of the best we've tasted and the naan breads were huge. However, there are 3 things we thought quite odd....
1. Poppadoms were 65p, okay, but pickles were extra - £3.95!!! Ok there was a big tray of them, but this is the first place we've been where mango chutney, lime pickle, mint sauce and onion mix are not complimentary with the poppadoms. We really fancied some, but not at that price! We were considering leaving, thinking this was an indication of the rest of the meal, but had already ordered drinks. Luckily we didn't leave.
2. No onion bhajis - bizarre, again, new for us to find them not on the menu.
3. Our waiter was very nice, but seemed to know very little about what was in the dishes, when I asked what it tasted like, he read the words on the menu to me. Not quite the in depth detail I was after!
All in all, the 3 points above were quite minor in the grand scheme of things and the food and service was, bar point 3 above, exceptionally good and the place is really worth a visit.

I found this place on trip advisor when we stayed in the holiday inn city centre. This place is just round the corner. The food was absolutely excellent and the staff were lovely. The decor is trendy and clean and tort good comes on high quality crockery/cutlery. Portions are generous with lots of god quality meat and excellent veg dishes. The best dish we had was lamb dansak which was the best I've tasted. Prices are reasonable at approx £8 per main. nan bread and rice look expensive (£3 for nan) but they are HUGE and easily big enough to share between 2. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Whilst visiting Edinburgh for the weekend tried this Indian on the first night and it was so good, we didn't look for alternative on second night. Excellent food and all the staff were very friendly, will definately be back. Nan Watson

This was the first time we have eaten at
the Shezan. It was my daughters 40th birthday and was a surprise. We had excellent service and the food was great. Lovely flavoured. Just spot on. Will definitely come back. Lynne Fleming.
