My family and I stayed in the Triple room for two nights, and found the whole experience wonderful. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We were made to feel immediately welcome. Every detail seems to be catered for, nothing appeared to be a problem to the hosts, and I can only second all the comments about the wonderful breakfasts. We found the power shower to be strong and warm! We made use of the regular buses into Princes Street, with a range of restaurants really close by - we can reccommend the Italian (can't remember what it is called though!)

This is a very lovely bed and breakfast establishment, located in a picturesque neighborhood. The proprietors are gracious and warmly welcoming. They are attentive to all requests for information or assistance and are otherwise unobtrusive. The breakfast offerings would please absolutely anyone. The menu has a multitude of selections. The hot dishes are distinctly gourmet both in preparation and presentation. The rooms are immaculate, tastefully decorated and peacefully quiet. The location is outside of town but closely located to Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile (shopping Galore!), Holyrood Palace (the Royal residence) and the majestic Holyrood park (extraordinary scenery and miles of walking/hiking paths). A trip to downtown is just a quick bus ride with the stop about 100 feet from the front door. Top all this with reasonable rates and you have all the makings of a very pleasant stay indeed!.

We stayed at 23 Mayfield in April, 09 for 5 nights and there is not one bad thing I can say, just a beautiful B & B run by Ross and his wife Kathleen. Mary served us an excellent breakfast each morning and the rooms were very large, with beautiful, well-kept decor. Just a delighful B & B and the best I've ever stayed at! I would highly recommend staying here, for the price it's a fantastic value. Definately going to come back here again and recommend others do the same.

We stayed for a weekend at Mayfield, and have to say that was one of my best BB stay ever.
The house is really clean and neat, the room we stayed in was just newly redecorated, quite tastefully.
The owner is a doll, really friendly and the traditional breakfast they prepare tops everything!

The city is within easy reach, 15-20 minutes walk from the heart of the city, busses leave regularly just 20 meters from the guesthouse, and the cab will take you to the center for around 7 pounds.

Will surely stay here if back in Edinburgh!
