“A nice place to stay while visiting Edinburgh”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights early this month. We received a nice warm welcome by Maggi. It was not very difficult to find and is quiet and conveniently located. If you dont mind walking around it only takes 15 to 20 mins to reach Princess Street but in between you will pass through Royal Mile. So nothing is too far from here. There are bus stops just across the street with frequent connections. Please do not forget to carry exact change while using the Lothians but the drivers were helpful to us with the routes.
Our rooms were not too big but it didn't really matter to us because we were only there to sleep and the rest of the time we were out but it can get slightly congested if you've got too many luggage. However they are very clean. Breakfast was good. Jerry was indeed a good host and helpful even when he was going through a difficult time. He had no qualms arranging our breakfast slightly earlier than usual the day we checked out to catch our morning flight. Definitely recommend! Thank you Gil Dun.

Recently spent two nights. Great location on quiet cul-de-sac close to bus stop and short walk to good dining. Upscale neighborhood near University. Very clean and comfortable. Had a single room with large private bath down the hall and sink in the room. Most rooms are en suite. Breakfasts were fresh and tasty. William was a great host with good advice. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of september in the twin room. The room was lovely and spacious with comfortable beds and was also very clean. Bathroom was also very clean. And since I was on crutches at the time it was great that a ground floor room could be provided. Hosts were very helpful and able to provide information on buses etc when required. Although the B&B is slightly out of town there are plenty of buses so it isn't a problem. Breakfast was very good and there is plenty of choice available. This would definitely be my first choice for accomodation for a return trip to edinburgh :)

We stayed two nights in Sept 2012 and if in Edinburgh again, would look no further. Close to city center with bus stop very close. Clean is always important and it is. Good breakfast. Jerry is a great host. We were on third floor, a bit of a climb, but with good window.

I can pretty much only repeat what others have said. Comfortable bed, excellent pillows, perfectly sized breakfast of eggs and salmon - and I could go on. We walked to the city to do our touristy things and had a great time. Good eating spots nearby and an excellent wine shop ~ 4 blocks toward the city.

Room Tip: Ours was in the back facing a yard; likely quieter than a room on the street which would pick up the...

Lovely B & B, very clean, great breakfast, nice modern rooms and lots of lovely finishing touches. Breakfast delicious - anything and everything you want freshly cooked to order. Located just outside the main city, but within easy reach - regular cheap buses at the end of the road or taxi. Gerard was very welcoming and helpful with information on places to visit and ways to get around Edinburgh, nothing was too much trouble, happy to arrange a taxi to the airport and store our luggage for the day. Great local pub 2 minutes down the road - Salisbury Arms, serving great meals, as well as other local restaurants. Would highly recommend.

This is a wonderful b &b. The hosts were wonderful, and went far and beyond helping to make our first visit to Scotland truly wonderful. They even arranged a bottle of wine and tickets to the fireworks and concert for our anniversary. The rooms are spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was very clean, bright and large by other b & b standards. The owners helped us to navigate buses to get to the castle, and suggested other beautiful places to see.
